“All the information that an artist could possibly want is out there,” Tyas said, “but what is valuable to you right now?”

Studio Channel Islands also contributes to Camarillo’s local economy by drawing people to the city. “Last year, we had 30,000 visits come through the gallery and the studios,” Tyas said. Visitors typically stay long enough to support nearby businesses, especially restaurants, which helps Old Town Camarillo thrive.
