There are ample opportunities for education of all levels in and around Camarillo. Established in 1868, the Pleasant Valley School District is the oldest continuously operated school district in Ventura County. The district educates more than 6,200 students across 12 different education institutions in Camarillo. Elementary schools, middle schools, magnet schools, early education centers, STEM academies, and schools of sciences and arts are all represented within the district. With more than 700 employees, it also ranks as one of the largest employers in Camarillo.
